A policeman directs traffic - in this case a horse and cart - at Dunstable crossroads. The photographer was looking from West Street towards Church Street. The Red Lion hotel was demolished in 1963 to allow the entrance to Church Street to be widened. The Home and Colonial grocery store went too.
